SEAL is at MME!

SEAL is a comprehensive instructional model of enriched language and literacy education for all students at MME grades TK-3. Students in SEAL develop powerful language skills through thematic units that are based on science and social studies standards that are fully aligned with the California English Language Arts/English Language Development standards.

English Learners

Approximately 40% of the student population at our school is learning English as a second language. At MME we believe that home language and being bilingual (or more!) is an asset. We have a rich and rigorous language program for students who are learning English, learning Spanish or who have a home start in more than one language. For more information visit: DJUSD EL Information.

Instruction and Learning

Excellence and Engagement

Students in the local school area and district-wide come to MME for our high quality instructional programs. Language and literacy--particularly the development of strong academic language--are key components to the instructional program at MME.

Montgomery has both a traditional neighborhood program and a Two Way Bilingual Immersion (TWBI) where the partner language is Spanish. Read more about our current journey from Spanish Immersion to TWBI under the links to the left. Whether in traditional or TWBI at MME, we view our English Learner's home language as an asset to be celebrated.
